3/5/2008 - Stockton Delta Asparagus Harvest Begins! It's that time again!  Greg Paul Produce Sales is geared up and ready to go as we commence the beginning of another spring asparagus push.  Delta Queen and Clements Ranch label will be available from now until the tail end of May.  Easter is early this season and the imports coming into the country are down in comparison to last year.  Luckily, Greg Paul Produce Sales, Inc. represents some of the finest, forward thinking farmers in this region, who are doing the opposite of the California asparagus industry trends and planting more acreage.  California volume will be down this year overall due to certain growers cutting back on acreage, or getting out of the commodity altogether.  We are proud to announce that our volume will be up this year, helping to absorb some of the impact of the niche that is once again becoming a nice time for California asparagus growers to be in business.  Remember, Asparagus is made up of 80%-90% water.  How safe is the drinking and irrigation water flowing through Mexico, Chile, and Peru?
