Asparagus is harvested daily, weather permitting. It is brought into the packing facility from the field, graded and sized by trained employees, packed, hydro-cooled and then palletized in the cold room to maintain its freshness. The asparagus is constantly washed and sanitized while traveling down the belts to be graded and sized and then takes a ride through the hydro-cooler to cool down and also be sanitized. All cases are then palletized on a #1 heat treated pallet, with paper covering the top of the pallet to prevent freezing and wrapped with netting before being carefully loaded onto the trucks.
